Here you can warm up on particularly cold winter days and enjoy culinary delights. Well-fortified, you then go down the toboggan run at a brisk pace. For tobogganing enthusiasts, Millstatt and the surrounding area has several tobogganing opportunities to offer!

 

We recommend the following toboggan runs very close to Lake Millstatt:

 

Natural toboggan run “Alpengasthof Bergfried”

This natural toboggan run is only a few meters away from Millstatt. Arriving by car, you can park for free at “Alpengasthof Bergfried”. Here you can even rent a toboggan for free, depending on availability, and at the same time the restaurant is the start and finish of this excursion. For half an hour, you leisurely hike up the 1.5-kilometer toboggan run. Once at the top, you warm up with the hot tea you brought with you and get ready for the brisk descent on the toboggan. Arriving back at the “Alpengasthof Bergfried”, it invites you with good delicacies.

 

Natural toboggan run “Pichlhütte”

The starting point for this toboggan run is in Tangern at the farmer "Worning". If you arrive by car, you can also park here. This pleasant tour takes about an hour and is 4 kilometres long. The destination is the “Pichlhütte”, which tempts you with culinary delicacies.

 

Natural toboggan run “Schwaigerhütte”

A recommendation especially for families with children is the natural toboggan run to the “Schwaigerhütte”. On the wide and well-prepared toboggan run, winter fun and tobogganing pleasure are guaranteed. Coming by car, you take the “Obermillstätter Almstraße” to the tollbooth, where you can park your car. Over 4 kilometres it goes just under 1.5 hours up to the “Schwaigerhütte”. Well-fortified, the children are already waiting to toboggan back down to the valley. P.S.: The “Schweigerhütte” has free toboggans for rent.

 

In Bad Kleinkirchheim, toboggan fans get their money's worth with the tractor cab. On fixed days you will be taken by tractor up to the “Unterwirt Hüttn”, have the possibility to stop there and shortly after it has become dark, you will go downhill again with your toboggan and headlamps.
