We are proud of Carinthia’s tradition as a treasure trove of culinary delights, which is still alive and kicking today. At the Hotel Forelle, we also benefit from the many food producers in our vicinity and the products that they pour their heart and soul into making. You can taste this passion in every mouthful. To ensure that you know where the ingredients for our culinary flights of fancy come from, we would like to introduce you to our regional suppliers:
TrippelGUT – wines and juices
Carinthia’s second-largest vineyard, the – TrippelGUT, supplies us with delicious wines and fruit juices. The large variety of grapes makes for a multi-faceted tasting session. The Trippel family sets great store by quality and brings unmistakeably Carinthian style to every glass. Guided tours and tastings are available at the winery anytime, with the views stretching all the way to the Pyramidenkogel on the shores of Lake Wörthersee adding to the enjoyment.
Hofer - fish
Kärnten Fisch, a fish farm in Feld am See, supplies us with fresh fish, fillets and exquisite smoked fish products. The fish are farmed close to nature, in natural ponds, guaranteeing top-notch flavour. This family enterprise welcomes visitors at any time, and fishermen of all ages may try their luck in one of the ponds!
Graßl Nudl und Co - pasta
We source or pasta from Graßl Nudl in Millstatt. Living, working and producing in harmony with the seasons is a central point in the philosophy of this direct marketer. The products thus obtained are free from any additives and a delight for the palate. The Burgstaller family also offers seminars directly on the farm.
Silbernagl – precious brandies
The Brennerei Schnapskastl in Millstatt has been producing precious brandies and liqueurs for more than 40 years. From apple brandy to stone pine schnapps, the distillery offers 27 different flavours. We also believe that a good brandy makes the perfect end to a delicious meal. In the Schnapskastl, you will also find unusual gift ideas for your loved ones back home.
Kaslab´n Nockberge – cheese
Organic, regional, and delicious! Our cheese comes from the Kaslab´n dairy in Radenthein. Cow’s and goat’s milk from hay-fed animals is made into flavoursome cheese and dairy products, with a focus on top quality and seasonality. Visitors may taste the delicious products on offer and take a look behind the scenes of cheese and dairy production.
Kandlhofer – “Kärntner Apfelblut” apple juice
The Kandlhofer apple orchard in Möllbrücke supplies us with a true Carinthian original – the “Kärntner Apfelblut” apple juice. This naturally cloudy apple juice combines Carinthia’s best features in a glass and is packed with flavour. An absolute treat, in particular on hot summer days!
Tuppinger - Honey
Our honey comes from Imkerei Tuppinger in Obermillstatt. The bee colonies live on mountain meadows and in the Hohe Tauern and Nockberge National Parks, and their honey is truly outstanding and of exceptional quality. This natural production site is always worth a visit and a great opportunity for children and adults to learn more about the life of bees and the work of beekeepers.
